About

I believe in chasing dreams… you must never give up on them, use every   knock-back as the very foundations of building your visions.

Moi
My son and family are my life. My passion in life is everything makeup and glitter. My guilty pleasures are Disney and comic book superheroes (I prefer Marvel but Batman rocks). I’m either a Converse girl or a Louboutin girl – there is simply no in-between.

Despite starting down a very different career path I have been a professional makeup artist for over 10 years, culminating in the launch of my very own cosmetics line under the Doll Face – House of MakeUp brand.  I juggle my days being a full-time single mum and a full-time entrepreneur – being my own boss affords me that luxury at least. While it certainly hasn’t been easy it has always been a lot of fun along the way. It’s my own kind of perfect.

As a teenager I was mesmerised by Britney Spears’ makeup & the images Pat McGrath created for Dior – it was minefield of colour & smokey sultriness and I was hooked. But a career in makeup artistry could be nothing more than a mere daydream for me… I had my previously set my sights on the lofty heights of a career in law and couldn’t back out now, for fear it would disappoint too many people.

I went on to university to study a law degree and then a post-grad in accounting but it never satisfied the creative side of my soul, there was always that thing missing. During my studies I managed to arrange modules so I could learn makeup artistry at the prestigious Oonagh Bowman School of Makeup simultaneously. When I really should have been working on my dissertations I was putting together mood boards and face charts – it was obvious what my first love was. If you do a job you love you never work a day in your life, I resoundly believe that from the bottom of my heart! Afterwards I worked freelance and on the makeup counters to gain valuable experience before furthering my training at LA College of Creative Arts in Dublin.

In 2011 I started Doll Face – House of MakeUp as a studio and retail shop and, as they say, the rest is history. I pioneered in bringing many sought-after brands to Northern Ireland forthe very first time. I opened a professional makeup academy within Doll Face to nurture new talent in 2015, now fully qualified to teach I also train at other institutions. I absolutely love teaching, it indulges me the pleasure of talking about my passion (and people have to listen to me! lol)

I really am living my dream. It may be a simple dream but it’s my dream.
